From afar I see a world On the horizon it grows Larger and larger The ship slows, the motors hum our trip is done it’s finally done Below us is a place of green and blue We rest upon a red mesa, standing tall Above the undergrowth My blaster is ready, my finger on the trigger We are not scared Fear has long sense left us Only hunger and thirst Drive us forward Like Cortez’s crew we’ve been stranded By our general’s dreams Onward we go, not knowing what we will see The air burns, gases unknown blacken our lungs Mask cover our faces We search for alien beings Nothing moves No birds fly No bugs crawl Onl

A tree sits outside the window Of an old church Red bricks match red leaves Bells ring with authority Through old streets There is a feeling of time Suspended by the town The buildings age Along with the people Grey and old slowly decaying Who is still grasping onto This old town?

Frozen streets twisted throughout the city Snow covered the asphalt and cement Turning human civilization into God’s canvas Cars sat idly by, powdered with frozen delight Inside; their owners drank hot coco The air crystalized and The black sky magnifies the divine eye Yet the white snow turns to black slush As trucks clear the roads And salt melts the ice I drive to work by morning Ignorant of the show created For my own enjoyment
